During his retreat, German Colonel Neuber is taken prisoner while trying to cross the frontline but not before he has hidden the stolen documents in the woods making sure that he is the only one who knows their whereabouts.
The Germans brief another team whose mission is to get Colonel Neuber released and find the missing documents. They successfully penetrate the Soviet rear, but officers from the Soviet counter-intelligence are waiting for them...

After their defeat at Stalingrad and the total loss of the 6th army, the German army needed a decisive victory to get the initiative back and turn the tide of the World War II. The concentration of the Soviet troops around the Kursk salient offered that opportunity and Hitler ordered the operation Citadel with a goal of cutting the salient and surrounding the Red Army forces defending it. This would be one of the last German offensives on the Eastern Front and would culminate at the arguably biggest tank battle in history - Prokhorovka and Soviet counter-attacks during the operations Rumyantsev and Kutuzov.

n May 23, 2017 two militant groups, Maute and Abu Sayaf, took the city of Marawi. Aby Sayyaf has been terrorizing the Philippines for 20 years. It was joined by another local group, founded by the Maute brothers, in 2012. They are both determined to fight for an independent Islamic state in the Philippines. The attack by Maute and its allies on the island of Mindanao is the biggest warning yet that ISIS (also known as Islamic State) is building a base in Southeast Asia.

The Philippines government has introduced martial law in Mindanao province. Officials were convinced they would recapture the city within weeks. But the counter-terror operation against ISIS fighters has now been on-going for three months. In an effort to oust the terrorists from the city, the Army deployed 3,000 troops. So far, 122 soldiers and 528 militants have been killed, according to the Philippine Army.

An RTD Documentary team spent a week in the city and witnessed scenes similar to the sieges of Aleppo in Syria and Iraq's Mosul, eventualities until now unknown in Southeast Asia. All roads to Marawi are closed. Heavily armed policemen and soldiers search everyone entering the city.

Our crew joined Philippine’s soldiers and rescue teams during raids across the city. Soldiers battle ISIS-linked gunmen on the streets and search for arms caches, while rescue teams inspect abandoned apartments looking for trapped civillians. Many survivors have endured a week without tap water and electricity.

The conflict between Hitler's Germany and Stalin's Russia claimed more than 30 million lives. On the early morning of June 22, 1941, the Nazi Wehrmacht had amassed 4.2 million crack troops along a front that stretched for 1,800 miles, and Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union began. The Nazi high command was extremely confident, expecting the total collapse of Stalin's Russia within six weeks. In reality, the  War raged on for nearly four years. The Nazis and Soviets fought the greatest single campaign in military history.

The Soviet victory at Stalingrad was the turning point in the European theater, it was all down hill for Germany after the battle.

The Soviets ended the war in Europe when they captured Berlin and Hitler committed suicide rather than be captured by the Red Army, they were going to put Hitler in a cage like an animal and parade him through the streets of Moscow.

The greatest battles of World War II, the most colossal encounters of military force,
the most devastating human losses which the modern world has ever seen, occurred on Russian soil during
1941-1945, on a battlefield that is unknown to most Americans. The conflict between Hitler's Germany and
Stalin's Russia claimed more than 30 million lives.

The Russian victory over the Nazis at Stalingrad was the beginning of the end for Hitler and his totally evil empire. Europe would be saved from Nazi slavery.

The war was principally a territorial conflict, initially between the Serb forces mostly organized in the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) on the one side, and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) which was largely composed of Bosniaks, and the Croat forces in the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) on the other side. The Croats also aimed at securing parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina as Croatian. The Serb and Croat political leadership agreed on a partition of Bosnia with the Kara?or?evo and Graz agreements, resulting in the Croat forces turning against the ARBiH and the Croat-Bosniak war. The war was characterized by bitter fighting, indiscriminate shelling of cities and towns, ethnic cleansing and systematic mass rape, mostly led by Serb and, to a lesser extent, Croat forces. Events such as the Siege of Sarajevo and the Srebrenica massacre would become iconic of the conflict.

The war was brought to an end after the signing of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Paris on 14 December 1995. Peace negotiations were held in Dayton, Ohio, and were finalized on 21 December 1995. The accords are now known as the Dayton Agreement. A 1995 report by the Central Intelligence Agency found that Bosnian Serb forces were responsible for 90% of the war crimes committed during the conflict. As of early 2008, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia had convicted 45 Serbs, 12 Croats and 4 Bosniaks of war crimes in connection with the war in Bosnia. The most recent figures suggest that around 100,000 people were killed during the war. In addition, an estimated total of 20,000 to 50,000 women were raped, and over 2.2 million people were displaced, making it the most devastating conflict in Europe since the end of World War II.

Stalingrad (Russian: ??????????) is a 2013 Russian war drama film directed by Fedor Bondarchuk. This is the first Russian movie completely produced with IMAX 3D technology. At the same time, this project is the first Russian and non-American film produced using the IMAX format The film was released in September 2013 in Volgograd and October in Russia before spreading out worldwide in subsequent months.

The film was selected as the Russian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards,[8][9] but it was not nominated.

A group of Soviet reconnaissance troops under command of Gromov are sent to prepare the way for a larger landing by Soviet troops from across Volga river in their sector of the city. The group occupies a building that also shelters some surviving civilians, and are soon fighting German troops attempting to take the building. Hauptmann Kahn, the officer commanding the German troops, falls in love with one of the Soviet women in the building, a young woman named Masha.

The original script by Ilya Tilkin does not have any literary source. The screenwriter studied diaries of the participants of the Battle of Stalingrad. He also used museum archives, documents and recorded stories of its participants.

The plot is based on "a dramatic love story against the backdrop of a grand battle." The action takes place in 1942 when the German troops occupied the bank of the Volga river. Having failed while attempting to cross the Volga to launch a counteroffensive on the German Army, the Soviet troops were forced to retreat. However, a few soldiers managed to get to the shore on the enemy's side. They remained hidden in a coastal house where they met a girl. The Germans had occupied her home, and she did not have time to leave the front lines.

Against the backdrop of the most bloody battle in the history of mankind develops a love story, and, from that moment, the soldiers have to protect this girl at any cost.
